After the successful launch of the Guardians of the Grassy Woodlands project at our recent Talking Landcare, we’re excited to be part of their first community event!
Integral Energy Park at Stream Hill (formerly West Dapto) is home to a beautiful remnant of the endangered Illawarra Lowlands Grassy Woodland. On Monday, 14 April, weโll be there with a Landcare stall, alongside members of the Stream Hill Landcare group. Stop by for a chat, pick up a free native plant, and make a seed bomb to take home.
This family-friendly event is all about connecting with nature. Kids can enjoy nature play with Bush Magic Therapies, get hands-on at the native bee education tent, and be entertained by roving performers from Eaton Gorge Theatre Company.
But there’s plenty for adults too! Our Chair, Emma Rooksby, will lead a guided walk, and the day will wrap up with a community planting session hosted by Wollongong City Council. Plus, donโt miss the free sausage sizzle lunch at 12pm.
We encourage all Landcare members and local residents to bring the family, learn more about this threatened ecological community, and get involved.
