Do you want to know more about how we collect native seeds from our coastal plants?
Our upcoming Coastal Seed Collection Workshop will visit sites along the Kiama coast to collect seeds for future tubestock for our Landcare Kiama coastal groups.
Led by Carl Glaister, Landcare Illawarra committee member, horticulturist, and one of the group coordinators for Bombo Headland Landcare, we will visit multiple sites along the Kiama coast to collect native seeds. We’ll include a discussion on how to store, process and propagate the seeds.
Participants will be required to make their own way to the first site, and we will organise carpools to and from the other sites.
Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear, sun protection and bring water. Some of the sites we are visiting are steep and you may need to scramble over some rocks.
When: Sunday 19 January 2025, 10am to 12.30pm
Where: Meet at Cathedral Rocks, off Cliff Drive, Kiama Downs at 10am. (Please note change in start time from 9.30am) We will finish at a different site at 12.30pm
Bookings: For more information on locations and to secure your place, e-mail coordinator@landcareillawarra.org.au or phone 0499 027 770
