We focus on riparian repair and flood mitigation by eradicating weeds, fallen trees and remove rubbish out of the creek, and some plantings.

Location
North and West of Collins Creek, from the railway line to the bridge adjacent to the council reserve in Woonona, North Wollongong.

History
Formed in 2014 by the residences at Woonona Gardens villas. The group works in private land as they own the property down to the centre of the creek.

Work Plan
Riparian repair and flood mitigation by eradicating weeds, fallen trees and remove rubbish out of the creek.

Worst weed!
Madeira vine.

Favourite plant and why
Lomandra: although a ‘plain jane’ we like these plants as they provide habitat for little critters and they protect the riparian zone. This is very important for us creek dwellers.
