After some trials of planting and fencing options, we are thrilled to host our first community event planting of the Livistona australis on local properties for our Future Proofing the Cabbage Tree Palm project launched in late 2025.

All members of the community are welcome to join us for a productive morning learning about this important key stone species in the Illawarra and continuing to its survival.
Please wear covered shoes and a long-sleeved shirt and long pants for working in long grass. Bring a hat and gloves for outdoor work. If there has been rain, please wear water-poof boots.
We will supply all the tools and plants and a light morning tea.
We will go head in light rain, but will cancel if the weather is unsafe.

9.30am Meet at Foxground Fireshed, Foxground Rd. Car pool to a nearby Foxground property
9.45am Site induction, project background briefing
10.00am Planting of Cabbage Tree Palms, and other companion species
11.30am Morning tea
12.00pm Returned to Foxground Fireshed.
